Description
One of the chiefs of the Unity Riders tying up his horse and calming him down after another long day on the road.
The Unity Ride is an annual event aiming to bring awareness of Native American issues,healing and peace to all nations and people, and to mend the Sacred Hoop of the Dakota,Lakota and Nakota that was broken when Lakota men,women and children were massacred at Wounded Knee on Dec 29,1890 and when Sitting Bull was murdered.The 1st Unity ride in 1990 was called "Wiping the Tears of Seven Generations".They rode from Bear Butte to the Pine Ridge Reservation,S.Dakota.
This picture was taken at the Kingston Maritime Museum 8/01/2013 - one of the stops for the Unity Riders and Two Row Wampum.
