Description
Black Bear Fishing at the Falls is a watercolor/mixed media painting done from my friend's photograph with permission,I added the bear. These falls are somewhere off the beaten path in the vicinity of Palenville/Saugerties in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York. Rocky landscape is very prevalent in the area and black bears roam freely,often following the same routes, their territory can cover as much as a 100 mile area. Obviously they love the fish in the streams,rivers and creeks, and also feed on wild blueberries,blackcaps and wild raspberries.We had a bear that frequented our yard because of the wild berries growing along the stream.If you put up bird feeders they are subject to being raided by the bears and sometimes even stolen!
