Description
The Devil Made Me Do It is a stylized cartoon cat in a devil costume trying to sneak up on a poor little mouse who's hiding inside a jack-o-lantern or carved pumpkin at a farm stand - corn stalks fade into the background.. A mix of styles focusing on a harvest Halloween theme inspired by the many farm stands, pumpkin patches and mazes found in upstate New York during the harvest/Halloween season.
Halloween is a modern day holiday which is derived from the Pagan Celtic holiday of Samhain (or in Christian times the eve of All Saints Day). There is little proof that costumes played much part in the holiday before the early 20th century. The first commercially produced costumes appeared in stores in the 1930's when Trick or Treating (the practice of going door to door to collect free candy) became popular.Halloween costumes were initially designed to imitate supernatural beings - ghost, goblins, ghouls, witches, devils and the like and of course skeletons. Today it is also popular to dress as cartoon characters from popular TV shows and as famous people.
This image would make excellent greeting cards and prints to decorate for Halloween or for anyone who just loves cats! Also throw pillows for your seasonal decor, and don't forget fabulous totebags perfect for Trick or Treating or just because!
