Description
"And you? When will you begin that long journey into yourself?"
― Rumi
This was recreated from a pen and ink sketch done a few years ago.It needed to come to life! Butterfly Woman Healer I Am draws on many of the things I experienced during the years that I was involved with a large group of healers or energy/light workers and Native American healers. Butterflies typically symbolize transformation because of all the stages they go through in their very short lives. They are also symbols of the soul and mind (ancient Greece) and rebirth. Some say if a butterfly lands on you it is good luck. In healers group, we always light candles (in Native American practices a sacred fire) to carry prayers (in the smoke) and to consume negative energy during and after a healing. All the elements are represented - earth, air, fire and water (a bowl of water). We always had lots of flowers around as the spirits are supposed to be drawn to them.
The crystal atop her head emanates 7 rays of light. The number seven is the number of creation - the connection of the human and the Divine- the symbol of perfection. In the bible the earth was created in seven days.To Hindus it represents truth.
The numbers three and seven deal with magical forces. The number seven represents the search for esoteric knowledge and mystery. It is about activating the imagination and consciously manifesting it's results in our lives. Seven is ruled by Saturn ,and in it's negative aspect can represent impractical dreaming.
We say there are seven colors in the rainbow ( although science has proved there to be more than a million). There is no end to the rainbow - here it pours it's colors across the earth.
Butterfly medicine lead me to Canada and my first vision quest - a transforming experience and a leap of faith.
