Description
A momma pink flamingo and her chick cool themselves and look for food wading in the beautiful aqua blue lagoon, lush with tropical plants and fed by a bubbling waterfall from the rocky shore. The blazing sun on the horizon completes this colorful, imaginative landscape (waterscape).
Flamingos or Flamingoes are aquatic wading birds in the genus Phoenicopterus (from Greek: φοινικόπτερος, meaning "purple wing"), the only genus in the family Phoenicopteridae. There are four flamingo species in the Americas and two species in the Old World.
Flamingos frequently stand on one leg with the other leg tucked beneath their body. No one knows the exact reason for this behavior .Although according to recent research standing on one leg may allow the birds to conserve more body heat (they spend a large amount of time wading in cold water). However, they also assume this stance in warm water. Aside from standing in the water, flamingos may stamp their webbed feet in the mud to stir up food from the bottom.
Young flamingos have greyish reddish plumage.Adult flamingos plumage ranges from light pink to bright red because of the aqueous bacteria and beta-Carotene they get from their food (shrimp included) . "A well-fed, healthy flamingo is more vibrantly colored and thus a more desirable mate; a white or pale flamingo, however, is usually unhealthy or malnourished. Captive flamingos are a notable exception; many turn a pale pink as they are not fed carotene at levels comparable to the wild.[citation needed]"

This vibrantly colored ,cheerful somewhat abstract watercolor artwork will liven up any room, including a sunroom, den, dining room, office, living room or bedroom. It would be perfect for a summer resort, restaurant or Florida room.
