A little used dirt road leads the traveler to experience the peace and solitude of the desert mesas and snow capped mountains.Prickly pear cactus, saguaro cactus and other desert plants dot the landscape, adding a touch of color to the rich gold and earthy red tones of the desert road and mesas. In the far distance snow caps the higher purple hued mountains. A crisp blue sky streaked with a few wispy clouds completes the scene.
This is purely from my imagination - remembering the beauty of the deserts of Arizona and New Mexico and how striking the snow capped mountains looked while baking in the 100 degree temps of some areas. Desert flora is so beautiful if one takes the time and energy to hike into some remote area and really see the beauty that can grow here despite harsh conditions. It was amazing to see a lone cactus popping up and flowering in an area charred by a forest (yes they call some of these ares forests!) fire.
