Greek Legend says the goddess Hera gave the peacock 100 eyes (that at one time belonged to the giant Argus) so that it could see the past, present and future , and thus protect her.This majestic,vibrant bird is often used to portray the beauty, love and compassion of the Hindu goddess Lakshmi and the Japanese goddess Kwan-yin.
