Three generations of colorful,tie dyed looking elephants enjoy a sunny day.This is a cropped version of my original watercolor painting. The matriarch of the herd and the new mom stand guard over the baby elephant. A delightful choice for any office,waiting room,child's room, play or family room or anyone who loves elephants.
African elephants are the largest land mammals on Earth,being just a bit larger than the Asian elephant.they are distinguished from Asian elephants by their larger ears which are similar in shape to the African continent.The flapping of their ears helps to radiate heat away from their bodies. Elephants love water and will shower themselves with their trunks.Sometimes they will also give themselves a dust bath after spraying themselves.The elephants trunk is not only it's nose but is used for showering,drinking,grabbing things and trumpeting and is made up of over 100,000 different muscles.
