African elephants are the largest land mammals on Earth,being just a bit larger than the Asian elephant.they are distinguished from Asian elephants by their larger ears which are similar in shape to the African continent.The flapping of their ears helps to radiate heat away from their bodies. Elephants love water and will shower themselves with their trunks.Sometimes they will also give themselves a dust bath after spraying themselves.The elephants trunk is not only it's nose but is used for showering,drinking,grabbing things and trumpeting and is made up of over 100,000 different muscles.
Both the male and female African elephants have tusks, which they will use to help remove the bark from trees and dig for water and roots - both a part of their diet.The males also fight using their tusks.
These great beasts get little sleep as they must roam great distances to forage enough...
I have been painting and crafting ever since I can remember. I enjoy experimenting with different techniques in watercolor, and mixing watercolor with other mediums.
